1. Heart attack

2. Inflammation of the lining of the lungs
This disease, known as pleurisy, is inflammation or irritation of the lining of the lungs and chest.
A person may feel pain when breathing, coughing, or sneezing. The most common causes of pneumonia are bacterial or viral infections, pulmonary embolism, and pneumothorax.

3. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Chest pain can be due to GERD. Also known as acid reflux, GERD can occur when stomach contents back up into the throat.
